Mission

Grove General Contractors is a family-owned and operated company led by owner Blair Pountney, who has worked in the construction industry since 1999. Founded in June 2023, Grove brings more than 25 years of field and project management experience to ADUs, new construction, commercial tenant improvements, property and facility maintenance, and a broad range of residential and commercial construction projects.

Our mission is to deliver quality craftsmanship and dependable service with honesty, integrity, and fairness. We approach every project with care, attention to detail, and clear communication, with the goal of building lasting client relationships and delivering results our clients can trust.

Our Clients

We work with homeowners, homebuyers and sellers, property owners, developers, property managers, building engineers, HOAs, damage restoration companies, hospitality operators, and commercial businesses. Our work ranges from repairs, upgrades, and remodels to ADUs, new construction, commercial tenant improvements, and ongoing property and facility maintenance for residential properties, offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and hospitality facilities.

Based in El Cajon, Grove serves clients throughout San Diego County, including El Cajon, Rancho San Diego, Santee, La Mesa, Jamul, Alpine, Bonita, Coronado, Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Chula Vista, National City, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, and surrounding communities.

About Grove General Contractors

Blair Pountney has worked in the construction industry since 1999, successfully leading projects ranging from $10,000 renovations to multimillion-dollar ground-up construction and managing project portfolios valued at up to $45 million. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, graduating summa cum laude, and has built his reputation on consistency, quality, and fairness.

In June 2023, Blair and his wife, Nissa, combined his construction and project management experience with her expertise in business operations to establish Grove General Contractors. As president, Nissa oversees contracts, compliance, billing, documentation, and project coordination, helping keep the company and its projects organized and running efficiently.

Blair also works closely with Ryan Newland, owner of Newland General Construction and a trusted general contractor he can lean on for additional insight, problem-solving, and project support. Their complementary residential and commercial construction experience gives clients the benefit of collaboration between two knowledgeable general contractors when a project calls for it.
